Na'vi Avatar Photoshop Preliminary Work

Image
Here is the original photo that I will be attempting to turn into an avatar. I figured because this photo of Emma Watson has good lighting and is a very clear image, this will allow for a good transition into transforming her into a fantasy avatar. Im thinking that because the Na'vi Avatar photoshop project requires a bit layer masking and adjustments to lighting and coloring of the image, this should serve as a good base for the various photoshop adjustments shown in the video because of the clarity it displays. Hopefully I can accurately add Emma Watson to the avatar world!

Book Cover Redesign - The Hobbit

While I am somewhat happy with how my book cover came out, unfortunately I wasn't able to accomplish exactly the similarity of the doorway and the ring, I inserted my attempt of utilizing the gestalt principle by inserting the ring as the window, but unfortunately it doesn't look as cool as I had hoped. I spent far too long already trying to achieve that appearance of the ring as the doorway to Bilbo's home, but did not wanted to submit my work too late, so I figured I'd hurry up and just show you all what I had accomplished so far. I was however able to utilize a filter to help make the image in front to look more like a painting, similar to the image in back, and then converted both of them to black and white, yet kept color for the ring because of its significance to the story.

My aim is to include a hobbit hole on the front cover that has the doorway looking like the ring, which Bilbo finds during his journey and begins the adventure that would end up establishing a very large following for the franchise. While I have figured out the Gestalt principle I would like to utilize for my project, that would utilize the similarity of objects to create a unified image of Bilbos home, that features a round doorway and the ring, two things he ends up valuing greatly after his journey, I'm still trying to decide which creative effect to use. I do think however it could be fun to try and make the image black and white, but utilize color solely for the ring which is gold to signify the importance of the ring throughout the story.   Front & back cover ...
