Awareness Poster - Renewable energy

Image
Today we are lucky to see that a future in renewable energy is a becoming a greater reality. Cities today are creating incentives for building environmentally friendly and green design building that are visually appeal as well as responsibly designed. We now have the ability to utilize resources that are renewable and can begin to create a future that coincided with the natural world and put less stress on it. Fossil fuels and the pollutants we use to heavily rely on no longer have to be a necessity when it comes to powering our homes, businesses, or cars. My hope for a poster like this is showing that renewable energy is a simple concept but an important step in the right direction if we hope to live in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable world.

Awareness Poster Sketches

As we have seen in recent memory, our natural world is experiencing drastic changes due to the technological dependence we have ingrained in society. The use of older energy sources like coal, gas and oil has proven to be more harmful to nature than some may have previously believed, but new energy sources like wind, solar, hydropower, and biomass are becoming a reality and serve as proof that renewable energy should be a integral part of our future. Nature is just as much a part of our livelihood, as heating our homes, or driving our cars, and with that being said it should be a priority for us to protect it. I chose to include the text, "The future is renewable" because I believe that we are by no means, doomed as a society, because we have the technology to make major differences if we...

Image Hijacking Attempt

1).     For my first photomontage, and definitely my favorite of all my work, (I actually drew out the glaciers on photoshop) I did an interpretation of the “This is not a Pipe” design, by Rene Magritte. My version includes glaciers that are supposed to be isolated with the saying below it, “This is not Ice,” to raise attention about global warming, and how that is becoming a major issue that should be taken seriously. The main desire is that the image can show that climate change is an important issue, which includes a variety of things that need to be addressed, like the rising sea levels that are correlated to the melting of polar ice caps. To allow for a continued distribution of the image, the image should be placed in areas where rising sea levels would impact the livelihood of people and habitats in those regions, along with major cities that are contributing to climate change. I feel like the image does a good job of showing...
